Whole Foods – 95 E Houston Street

Whole Foods is definitely overpriced but the options are endless when it comes to getting a bite to eat. Whole Foods has an incredible salad bar with plenty of fresh options to choose from. You can also get warm meals, and fresh juices.
There’s a Whole Foods on E Houston right beside Soho, so it’s a perfect stop during a day of shopping. Despite its price, it’s the closest place near Soho for fresh food.
Little Beet Table – 333 Park Avenue S

Little Beet Table is a gluten-free organic restaurant with plenty of fresh options to fuel your day. With appetizers ranging from $9-$27 there are options for all budgets. All rich in flavor, Little Beet Table is known for delectable salmon dishes – a great source of Omega 3s. Freshness is so key, both at home and when travelling – stop here for a healthy refuel!
The Butcher’s Daughter – 19 Kenmare Street

The Butcher’s Daughter is a delicious vegan restaurant, lesser known to tourists. Meals range from $11-$30, so there are options for every budget. On the edge of Stuytown, it’s a short cab ride away from Soho.
As it’s vegan, a lot of the options are made up of nuts – beware if you have a nut allergy! Despite the manager telling me I was “good to go”, I ended up having an allergic reaction due to cross contamination. If you don’t have an allergy to nuts, you will love this place and marvel at their ability to make delicious meals vegan. God bless OHIP for covering my medical bills!
Viva La Crépe – 51 Spring Street

Located in Soho, one block away from the Supreme store, Viva la Crêpe is one of many creperies where you can fill them up with lots of healthy options! If you want to indulge, Viva la Crepe also have tons of cheeses and both sweet and savoury crepes. I enjoyed a basil and prosciutto crepe with mushrooms and goat’s cheese for $9.
It was easily one of the best crepes I’d ever had! I returned later that day for a sweet crepe – filled with caramelized apples, powdered sugar, and caramel sauce – the key is to a healthy lifestyle is moderation, not deprivation! One way you can indulge more often is to share a sweet treat with someone else – you get to satisfy your sweet tooth, without consuming all the calories.
